MEET DR. CRAIG DUVAL - COSMETIC DENTAL SURGEON

“Craig Duval was born in Durban, South Africa and migrated to Melbourne before settling in Brisbane in 1983. He studied at the University of Queensland to complete a five year Bachelor of Dental Science degree in 1994.
In 1995 he married Katrina, a Veterinary Surgeon and very enthusiastic amateur photographer. During 1997 and 1998 they enjoyed a working holiday in England, and some backpacking through Africa, Europe, North America and the Pacific Islands.
Craig and Katrina are very proud parents of 6 year old Connor, 4 and a half year old Benjamin, 2 and a half year old Brianna, and their newest addition Jacob, who is 5 months old. Craig is one of over 2000 members of Kenmore Baptist Church, and loves involvement in many diverse aspects of church life. He has previously held roles as the Church Treasurer and an elder.
Craig established Designer Dental Studio in March 2000, when it was known as Calamvale Dental Centre. As he has furthered his education, the practice has grown significantly. Craig regularly attends continuing education courses throughout Australia and the United States, and his team often travels with him.
Craig is passionate about all aspects of cosmetic dentistry, and enjoys helping his patients to look and feel their best! He is one of only four dentists in Australia to have passed his examinations towards accreditation with the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry.
Craig is currently completing his Masters in Neuromuscular Dentistry, with frequent visits to the Las Vegas Institute for Advanced Dental Studies (LVI). Craig was recently presented with the Las Vegas Institute inaugural Rising Star Award for Outstanding Commitment to Education in August 2007.”

MEET JADE LOCKE - ORAL HEALTH THERAPIST
Jade was born in Bowral, and grew up there with her family until she moved to Sydney for further studies. She has recently moved to Brisbane with her husband Jayden.
As the newest member of the Designer Dental team, Jade is our Oral Health Therapist. She will meet all your Preventive Care and oral health needs with the utmost care and attention.
Jade has extensive experience in the dental industry, beginning over 7 years ago as a Dental Assistant. She completed a Diploma of Dental Therapy in 2003 at the Westmead College of Dental Therapy in Sydney.
Jade worked with the Northern Sydney Area Health Service for several months before being one of a select few to be invited to attend the Diploma of Dental Hygiene Bridging Course in Torrens Valley, South Australia. She graduated with a Diploma of Dental Hygiene in 2004.
Jade brings several years of excellent clinical and personal experience to the Designer Dental Team. We look forward to introducing her to each and every one of our patients!
Jade enjoys exploring new places, and is always on the lookout for new cafes and restaurants with great atmosphere and delicious food (and wine)! Jade and Jayden look forward to settling in to their new home in Ascot.

MEET MEGHAN - CARE DIRECTOR

Meghan was also born in Durban, South Africa. She migrated to Brisbane in 1996 with her family. After completing her secondary studies at Canterbury College in Waterford, Meghan began her first part time dental assisting position at a nearby practice.
After having gained 18 months of valuable clinical experience, Meghan was selected to become part of the Designer Dental team. Meghan's role has changed somewhat during the 4 years she has spent at the practice. Initially, Meghan was trained as a Clinical Coordinator, assisting chair side full time with Dr Duval.
After 15 months in this role, Meghan progressed into the role of Treatment Coordinator, and finally Care Director. Her primary focus is to ensure every patient has a positive dental experience, both in the dental chair and out of it!
Meghan is passionate about dentistry and is very committed to continuing education in the industry. Meghan has completed Certificate III in Dental Assisting, and has travelled to the United States on several occasions to study at the Las Vegas Insitute.
Meghan is a movie buff and loves watching titles of all genres. She enjoys spending time with her partner Leigh, and together they regularly attend motorsport events. Meghan is in the process of restoring her 1976 Holden Premier.

MEET KRISTY - CARE CLINICIAN
Kristy has lived in Brisbane since the age of six, but travel is her passion! She has visited nine international locations, including Thailand, Japan and London.
Kristy joined the Designer Dental Team almost two years ago
, and her role is that of Care Clinician. Kristy assists chair-side with Dr Duval, providing exceptional care to our patients.
Kristy is certainly not new to the dental industry! She has worked as a Dental Assistant since 2002, when she started a traineeship with Queensland Health. This traineeship qualified Kristy with Certificate III in Dental Assisting. Initially she worked in the Logan/Beaudesert District in both adult and school dental services for three years.
She gained a great deal of experience working with children in dentistry. Although situations could sometimes be challenging, Kristy thoroughly enjoyed this aspect of her work.
In 2005 Kristy ventured into the world of private practice, hoping to further her knowledge and improve her skills.
“In her spare time Kristy enjoys modern jive dance, and had trained for around five years. She also does ice-skating regularly, and has recently obtained her Advanced Open Water Dive Certificate. Kristy enjoys attending AFL matches, especially when Jamie Charman of the Brisbane Lions is playing!”
